Hardwood Floor Refinishing in North Spokane — Restore, Don't Replace
Serving Garland, Whitman, Wandermere & surrounding North Side neighborhoods · We call back within 1 hour
Scratched, Dull, and Stained — But Not Beyond Saving
North Spokane floors tell the story of the neighborhood — the mid-century oak in a Garland District ranch, the maple in a 1970s split-level near Francis Avenue, the newer hardwood in a Wandermere home that got dulled by two winters of boot traffic. Refinishing removes all of it by sanding to fresh wood and building a new finish from scratch. What comes back looks like new installation, costs a fraction of replacement, and takes 2–3 days.
The free estimate answers the key question: can your floors be saved, and what will it actually cost?
What Waiting Is Doing to Your Floors
- Scratches deepen over time. Once the finish layer breaks, bare wood absorbs grit, moisture, and foot-traffic oils. Today's surface damage becomes tomorrow's board replacement.
- Water damage is cumulative. Repeated moisture events — even small spills — penetrate deeper each season. There's a point where refinishing stops being possible.
- Pre-sale window is short. Refinishing requires cure time before furniture goes back. Waiting until you're listing means panic — and rushed work shows.
- Replacement costs 3–4x more. Refinishing at $3.50–$7/sqft vs. new installation at $6–$12/sqft. If the wood underneath is good, refinishing is almost always the right call.
How We Refinish Floors
1. Free in-home estimate. We assess the wood — species, thickness, condition, depth of damage — and give you a written quote.
2. Stain samples on your floor. You pick the color in your own lighting — not from a card. We apply test swatches and you approve before we commit.
3. Dustless sanding. Our HEPA-filtered system captures dust at the source. No clouds of fine particles circulating through your forced-air system for months afterward.
4. Stain, seal, and finish coats. Two to three coats of commercial-grade polyurethane, buffed between each. Water-based or oil-based depending on your floor and preference.
5. Cure and handoff. Light foot traffic in 24 hours (water-based) or 48 hours (oil-based). Written care instructions for Spokane's climate included.
What Our Customers Say
"Had original oak in our 1960s ranch near the Garland District — we honestly weren't sure refinishing would help. It looks better than anything we've seen. The dustless process was a genuine surprise. No mess, no smell lingering for days."
"Screen-and-recoat was exactly what we needed — not full refinishing, just a refresh before listing. They told me upfront that the damage didn't warrant full sanding. Honest call. We were back in the room in 48 hours."
